A March advocating clean mobility and shared responsibility for our rights on the Streets
Mobility shapes how people move, work, and connect, shaping communities and access to opportunities. Accessible and inclusive transport is vital for building neighborhoods where everyone can thrive.
On 9 January 2026 at the College of Commerce street, over 35+ participants, including students, faculty members, and NEP coordinators, came together for the Our Street Our Rights initiative. The event created a platform for awareness, discussion, and collective action on improving urban mobility.
The discussion highlighted the importance of clean and inclusive transport, showing how sustainability and accessibility must go hand in hand. Prof Dr Mohammad Ali delivered a speech emphasizing awareness and responsibility in shaping public spaces.
This was followed by keynote addresses on sustainable development by Madhukar Sir and Manoj Sir, who highlighted the need for transport systems that serve everyone, including women, children, elderly people, and persons with disabilities.
The awareness rally was led by Neha Perveen along with group leaders from different departments of the College. The march began from the campus and moved through the streets of Kankarbagh, raising public awareness about the urgent need for clean, safe, and inclusive mobility systems.
Next steps focus on engaging authorities, expanding outreach, and building collaborations for inclusive mobility. This initiative brought people together, sparking dialogue, reflection, and collaboration.
These efforts continue to advance sustainable and accessible urban spaces. They amplify often overlooked perspectives and show the power of collective responsibility, turning awareness into real change that shapes safer and smarter mobility for everyone.
